Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce
Makes 6 servings

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion
1 medium green bell pepper, diced
2 cans (28 ounces each) crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 ounces) beef broth
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste (or more to taste)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
Directions:
Heat oil in large skillet over medium-low heat. Add ground beef, onion and bell pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, until meat is no longer pink and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
Place meat mixture into slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients; stir thoroughly. Cove; cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours.

Jazz up the flavor of slow cooker dishes by adding a small amount of snipped fresh herbs or freshly ground pepper just before serving.
